Tori Bowie to Attend New York Fashion Week [Elle]
Word is that track and field star Tori Bowie, the fastest woman in the world and a three-time Olympic medalist, is slated to attend (and possibly walk the runway) at multiple fashion shows during New York Fashion Week. The 27-year-old Mississippi native starred in the last Valentino campaign. Of that experience, she says: “I know now that modeling is tough; it takes a lot of hours and a lot of energy … I thought modeling was going to be, show up, take a few pictures, pack it up, go home. No. We were on site for, like, 12 hours!”
Pantone’s Top 10 Colors for New York Fashion Week [Pret-a-Reporter Inbox]
Global color authority Pantone has unveiled its picks for the top 10 colors they’re predicting to show up on the runways during the men’s and women’s fall-winter 2018 collections showing at New York Fashion Week. The lineup is: Red Pear, Valiant Poppy, Nebulas Blue, Ceylon Yellow, Martini Olive, Russet Orange, Ultra Violet, Crocus Petal, Limelight and Quetzal Green. “The fall-winter 2018 palette continues to show designers expressing the need for individuality, ingenuity and creativity though fashion,” says Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute. “As designers and consumers alike continue to transition away from cyclical trends and instead focus on self-expressive colors that evade antiquated seasonal structure, we are seeing very notable non-traditional choices, such as Pantone 12-0740 Limelight and Pantone 15-3520 Crocus Petal showing up in the fall/winter palette. Exploring nuances within color families and building off of them with new combinations and materials freshens and reinvents the color story.”

Henson.
